I READ, with interest, in the national press that a group of 85 persons from Wyre Forest District Council have attended a two-day "equalities and diversity" conference.
How interesting it must have been for them, when told that the terms "shipshape and Bristol fashion" and "nitty gritty""were no longer PC and were not to be used!
How interesting it is for the good people of Wyre Forest to have confirmed what they have long suspected - that their ever increasing Council Tax burden is being frittered away by correctness gone absolutely mad.
What sort of people do they think we are? How dare they have the audacity to waste our money?
Perhaps, in future, before sending a party on a two-day junket, or embarking on any other harebrained scheme, they should get to the "nitty gritty" and consider the cost and usefulness of the exercise.
That is what being "shipshape and Bristol fashion" really means.
