A MAN who claimed he was the victim in a robbery has withdrawn his allegation.
The 42-year-old told police he had been robbed in Goldthorn Road, Kidderminster, on Thursday, May 5 but has since admitted the offence did not take place.
A police spokesman said: "We recognise that any report of this type increases the fear of crime and we are keen for people to know that this incident did not actually happen."
The man had originally claimed to have been hit from behind and knocked to the ground.
