ATHLETES from the Amazing Feet Running Club took part in five events last week. Phil Wood, Gary Healey and Martin Howles tackled the Big Black Mountain Challenge across the Brecon Beacons, completing the 27km course in five hours 37 minutes.

Matt Smith also headed for the hills, with a 3-49-33 seconds finish in the White Peak Marathon, along the High Peak and Tissington trails in the Derbyshire Peak district.

Smith came 85th of the 190 finishers.

Rogers Canavan (151st 0-23-7) and Lindsay Pulley (187th 0-26-02) completed the second race of the six-race Telford series, the Phoenix Flyer 5km, at Dawley. Mike Warren also took part, coming 103rd in 0-21-12.

Pulley is second in the M65 category after two races. In the Cobra Classic 14km race on Sunday, David Pye recorded a personal best 1-5-48, while Nic Hyde (1-2-35) and Andy Norris (1-10-16) also took part.

Sarah Armstrong finished seventh overall and second lady in the Abberley 10km, in 0-44-4, while Colin Lucas came 55th in 1-1-40, and Martin Childe 56th in 1-1-41.

In the accompanying 2.5-mile fun run, Glen Childe was 29th in 0-15-44, Rosie Armstrong 0-17-01 and Juliet Armstrong 0-20-12.
