STOURPORT Hockey Club Ladies show off their silverware after a season of unprecedented success.

Representatives of the club were presented with the awards at the county hockey association annual meeting earlier this month.

Captain Holly Lashford took delivery of the ladies first team's prize for winning the First Division title and the trophy for having the best defensive record.

Second team skipper Louise Bagnall received similar prizes on behalf of her side for clinching the Second Division title with the best defensive record, as did senior player Sandra Barlow for the thirds.

Teri Baron also received an award for being the top goalscorer in the Third Division.

Press and publicity officer Sara Jennings insisted it was a remarkable achievement for the ladies section of the club.

She said: "In all my time playing hockey I've never known a club win all three divisons of the county league so it's fantastic.

"It is great news for hockey in this area and hopefully it will encourage more people to take up the game."
