GOLFER Karen Greenfield proved there is no place like home when she won the Worcestershire Ladies County Championship on her home course at Kidderminster Golf Club.
It is the second time the 34-year-old has lifted the trophy having clinched the county title four years ago at Stourbridge.
But Greenfield insisted the pleasure of winning the tournament on the familiar and fairways and greens she plays each week made the second success all the sweeter.
"I won it in 2001 and that was great but this is even better because it's nice to win it on your own course with all of your friends and team-mates supporting you."
Greenfield's quest for glory put her on a good-natured collision course with clubmate Sarah Nicklin with the duo neck and neck after the final round.
In order to separate them, three extra holes were played with Greenfield, who took up golf 21 years ago, eventually coming out on top.
Greenfield and her team-mates are now preparing for Worcestershire County Week at Malvern next month.
