A MENTAL health charity is making a bid to attract more people to its successful Kidderminster-based drop-in centre and to help run the organisation.

Wyre Forest MIND runs popular twice weekly drop-in sessions at Baxter Church Hall in the Bull Ring and wants more users with enduring mental health problems to come along.

Chairman, Jenny Knowles, said the group had recently secured more than £20,000 in grants from various sources to run the district's branch of the national charity.

"The drop-in centre opens Tuesdays and Fridays from 2pm to 4pm and it is very buoyant, with lots going on," she said.

Two volunteers are also needed to make the complement of trustees up to nine, in line with the constitution.

"It is not an onerous task," said Mrs Knowles. "We meet bi-monthly and it is very interesting and worthwhile work," she added.

Mrs Knowles added that they would also welcome more volunteers, especially people with skills they could pass on to the users, to help at the centre.

Anyone interested in finding out more about Wyre Forest MIND is invited to the annual meeting at the drop-in centre on Friday, June 17 at 2.30pm or ring 01562 865035 for more information.
