A CHILDLINE volunteer is flying out to India to see how the charity helps the nation's young people, some of whom do not even have a home.

Delyth Draper, 29, said she expected the visit to Delhi to be a culture shock but was looking forward to helping those in need.

The Kidderminster resident said: "If a child is homeless and in need of help they will pick them up and find a hostel or shelter for them. I think it is definitely something that is going to be a life-changing experience."

Mrs Draper has manned the phones at Childline, the confidential service for young people, for three years in the UK. She also teaches at a school in Bromsgrove.

She said of her post at the independent Bromsgrove School: "What it has enabled me to do is to get in touch with the problems they experience and empathise with the problems they have.

"It has been really good for my job."

Mrs Draper said she would also be shown school camps and how Childline operates in Dehli.
