HUNDREDS of thousands of pounds are expected to change hands tomorrow when the fourth annual Chamber Business Festival takes place.

More than 140 companies and organisations will be exhibiting at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, with more than 2,000 visitors expected to flood through the doors for the free event.

Last year, £180,000 worth of business was done on the day and organisers are expecting this figure to be even bigger this year.

"We started the Business Festival four years ago as a way for businesses in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to meet and do business together," said Patricia Head, festival director.

"In one day, local businesses can meet thousands of potential customers, suppliers, partners and contacts - all under one roof.

"Last year's figures are based on just the companies we surveyed.

As well, more than 500 sales leads were generated and 400 supplier follow-up calls were made as a result of the festival.

"This year, we have an enlarged exhibitor area complimented by six, interactive themed zones representing core aspects of a business, so we are expecting a lot of business to be done."

The themed zones are: Visionarium, which offers state-of-the-art business tools and innovative gadgets; The Academy, where staff are considered; Money, Money, Money; Eat; The Greenhouse, which will showcase resources to aid growth; and Location, Location, Location, which promotes working and living in the two counties.
