SUN Valley Foods in Hereford has donated £2,500 to the British Heart Foundation to provide much needed equipment for the city's Luctonians Sports Centre.

The contribution, as part of Sun Valley's £20,000 annual charity giveaway, enabled the centre to buy a defibrillator and ECG machine to be used as a precautionary medical measure for all club members.

The Luctonians Sports Centre runs a selection of sports teams, including rugby and cricket and offers a reduced membership rate for under 19s to encourage youth sport and activity.

David Thomas, director of club development, said: "We are delighted to be awarded this highly valuable piece of equipment that will provide reassurance to all of our 700 members.

"On behalf of the club, I would like to express our gratitude to Clifford Powell at the British Heart Foundation and of course Sun Valley Foods, for this generous donation."

Richard Maxfield, director of Sun Valley Foods, said: "We are extremely pleased to be able to provide such a vital piece of equipment to an organisation that is providing sporting entertainment to so many people.

"We would like to wish Luctonians Sports Club all the best for the future".
