THE Reds of Evesham overcame the Alphabets 49-35 in the latest action in the Worcester City League.
However, it was only in the latter stages of the match that the Reds pulled away from their opponents in what was a closely-fought affair.
Not even a player of the match performance from the Alphabet's goal attack could prevent an Evesham's win as clinical finishing saw them emerge worthy winners.
The Evesham Jades inflicted a crushing 55-20 defeat on the Castaways when Sharon Hunt's Player of the Match performance from Sharon Hunt was instrumental.
In the Redditch League, the Jades narrowly overcame Topaz 39-30 after trailing by three goals in the early stages.
Some impressive play from the Evesham side's goal attack and goal shooter, however, saw them eventually overcome their stubborn opponents.
