PREPARATION for next football season starts in earnest early next month for players hoping to get a game at Evesham United for under-12 to under-15 boys and under-16 girls.

Trials are taking place at Common Road and Eve-sham High School for youn-gsters wishing to play in the Midland Junior Premier League next term.

The initial session is on Wednesday, June 8 for two hours from 6pm at Common Road with further trials taking place at the High School on Saturday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 14 between 10am and 12 noon and 6.30pm and 8.

The latter's under-14 squad enjoyed ideal preparation for this weekend's Amsterdam Cup date when they defeated Yate Town 5-3 last Saturday thanks to goals from David Huggins, Jonny Wein, Lewis Dallard, Rob Andrew and Aaron Biddle.

The Midland Junior Pre-mier League is set for significant expansion with West Bromwich Albion signed up for 2005-06 when they will field Colts teams at Under-13/14/15 age bands.

A further 80 Midlands clubs are in discussion with the MJPFL ahead of next Tuesday's deadline day.

Fourteen Nationwide Conference and Southern League clubs participated in the first season of the league, which is comprised of Mid-land club junior teams aged between 12-17, including Hereford , Worcester City, Tamworth, Kettering, Glou-cester, Hinckley , Redditch, Cambridge City, Evesham United, Rugby, Bromsgrove and Brackley.
