NOT only will Evesham be represented in the Premier Division of the Southern League next season but also in Leagues One and Two of the Coca-Cola Championship!

Referee Jamie Cox has earned promotion to the national list of assistant referees after completing an arduous season and tough interview with senior delegates from the Football Association.

Jamie, the sports centre manager at Evesham High School, has only been refereeing for nine seasons but the last one will go down as his most rewarding especially after receiving notification in April of his promotion prospects.

"The consistency required to achieve such a promotion is very hard in what is an extremely competitive national system," Jamie admitted.

"One poor mark from an upset secretary can blow the whole season but fortunately from the 70 matches that I have handled this season all went very well."

The Vale man in the middle took charge of six matches in either the FA Cup, FA Trophy or FA Vase, while also having the honour of taking charge of this year's two-legged Worcestershire Senior Cup Final.

As an assistant he was on the line in the first round proper of the FA Cup, while also assisting in the first leg of the Conference Play-off tie between Aldershot and Carlisle.

The latter's elevation back into the Football League at the first time of asking could again see the Cumbrians coming face to face with the Evesham official.
