CARING pet owners are being urged to get their animals microchipped.
As part of National Microchipping Month in June, the Townsend Veterinary Practice, in Birmingham Road, is encouraging people to have their animals microchipped.
A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is implanted under an animal's skin painlessly.
It is a foolproof form of identification and, unlike a collar, it cannot fall off and become lost. It can help an animal be traced if it is lost or stolen. For more details call the surgery on 01527 831616.
