A BROMSGROVE school is celebrating its healthy eating success.
South Bromsgrove High School was visited by town MP Julie Kirkbride in support of the ongoing healthy eating campaign at the Charford Road school.
Over the last three years, they have reduced the salt, fat and sugar content of everything they make and most of the bought items, without anyone noticing the lack of taste or quality.
A salad and pasta bar has been introduced after the students suggested it and high sugar and caffeine drinks have been taken off the menu. The demand for chips has halved with the demand for jacket potatoes rising from four a day to 50. Anne Bounton-Preece, from South Bromsgrove High, said: "We have always believed in giving children a healthy balanced diet - this is not just something Jamie Oliver thought of."
