BADSEY progressed through to the second round of the Worcestershire Under-15s Knockout Cup after victory over the Worcester Nomads by nine runs.
Skipper Adam Westmacott top scored with 53 and Sam Thom-son hit 21 as he and the opener put on 59 for the third wicket on the way to a total of 122-7.
In reply, opening batsmen Smith (26) and Brain (33) posted 68 for the first wicket but, after both openers were dismissed in quick succession, the Nomads lost their remaining wickets cheaply and were eventually all out for 113.
The winners will face Rush-wick in the next round.
