COOKING three meals a day for more than 100 men is all in a day's work for a Pershore soldier serving in Kenya.
Trish Francis is serving with the Royal Logistic Corps, attached to the Royal Engineer's Bomb Disposal unit and is being kept busy as head chef.
The 26-year-old corporal is currently part of Exercise Pineapple, helping to clear ranges of artillery and mortar rounds.
"I have to do ration runs down to our storage base and its heartbreaking to drive back to camp loaded with food and not be able to give anything to the local people," she said.
"It really tugs on your heart strings to see how the people are living.
"I feel I'd like to stop and give them everything on board, but of course I can't because I have mouths to feed and the men are doing a great job making the area safer for locals."
The former Elgar High School student joined the Army in 1994 and has to make sure soldiers get a good diet to keep their energy up.
