JIM Evans' recent letter and one written by L Spiteri reminded me that Nick Chance wrote on Monday, April 18 that "Any MEP who actively forwards the EU Agenda (writing letters to newspapers and so on, in support of the EU) automatically receives an extra £2,000 a month."

Isn't that an obscene abrogation of democratic principles? Shouldn't there be widespread public outrage, over the "United States of Europe" paying our elected European representatives, an additional £24,000 a year, for writing pro-Europe letters, to local and national newspapers?

Doesn't Mr Chance's statement destroy the value of the various letters Philip Bushill-Matthews MEP has written to the Worcester News on Europe? Shouldn't our MEPs be telling us precisely how much additional money, if any, they have been paid, for "forwarding the EU Agenda?"

Given that the EU is apparently paying "bonuses," to MEPs to "forward the EU Agenda," doesn't that raise the question of whether or not the EU is paying the BBC, the independent television companies, and the independent radio stations, to broadcast pro-EU propaganda?

Doesn't it also raise the question of whether or not our detested, and now unelected European Regional Governments, are in some measure being paid, via grants and regional development funds and so on, to "forward the EU Agenda?"

How can we contemplate handing over the future of our entire nation, to a European Superstate that apparently pays our elected representatives, and perhaps even regional and national organisations, to (effectively) say: "Look how good our European Superstate is for you?"

What does that say about the reputation of Europe as a free and elective democracy?
