SHEILA Tremellen was the speaker at the April meeting, on the subject of "Friends".

Members were given an insight into the charity organisation The Protection of Unwanted Puppies Society (PUPS).

Ms Tremellen has been rescuing animals for almost 40 years, but over the last 15 years she has concentrated on puppies, re-housing more than 780 to date.

A skittles evening will take place on May 12 at the Fountain Inn, Clent. The luncheon club will meet on May 17 at 10.30am at Hampton Loade, members to walk around four miles to Dudmaston Hall for lunch. An outing to Frogmore and Windsor Castle is planned for August.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 18 in Broome parish rooms, starting at 7.30pm.
