STOURPORT failed to produce the goods in the Buckinghamshire sun as they slumped to a disappointing end of season 3-1 defeat at Burnham.

Three second half goals secured the points for Burnham while Swifts had to rely on a John Shirley effort for their consolation.

Duncan Willetts had a chance to open the scoring for the visitors before the break but he squandered a good chance from an excellent position.

Burnham looked sharp in the opening 45 minutes but it took until the third minute of the second period before the deadlock was finally broken. Adam Logie's long throw found Michael Bartley lurking in the area and he managed to steer his shot beyond the reach of Stourport keeper Aaron O'Malley.

Shirley hauled the Swifts back into contention on the hour when he latched onto a loose ball from Rob Saunders to score.

But any hopes the visitors may have had of claiming something from the game evaporated just two minutes later when Saunders made up for his earlier mistake to fire home after Jon Horsted's initial shot was parried by the keeper.

Burnham made sure of victory on 85 minutes through a well-struck Daryl Jones goal and substitute Rommel Gumbs went close to a fourth in the closing seconds.
