A MINIBUS full of members travelled to the Adrian Boult Hall, Birmingham on Friday, April 15, to see a recital by Allan Schiller in aid of the Denis Matthews Memorial Trust.

Before the recital began, there was a presentation of honoraries to the Conservatoire.

Mr Schiller played the Bach Preludes and Fugues in C, major and minor, Debussy's Deux Arabesques, and work by Schumann, but the item everyone was talking about was his performance of Beethoven's Waldstein concerto, which evoked comments such as "the best performance of this work ever heard" from some members of the audience.
