GRAHAM BALLINGER

Liberal Party-Focus Save Our Hospital

Long serving district councillor Graham Ballinger is the only "save our hospital" candidate in Chaddesley division.

He is appalled at the Tory county council's Wyre Forest Schools Review and totally supports parents and residents who have campaigned for Stone CE First School.

On the district council he is campaigning to clean up litter and mess.

Graham says:

Give people a real say on the future of local schools and sort out the chaos of closures.

Continue the fight to get A&E and a birthing centre back to Kidderminster.

More police on the beat tackling crime, nuisance, vandalism and drug pushing.

Fight off the threat of Government spending on "Supporting People" which is going to hit local elderly hardest.

A decent public transport concessionary fare scheme for the elderly.

Tackle the appalling state of roads and pavements, public transport and traffic flow problems.

STEPHEN CLEE

Conservative

I have been privileged to represent you at County Hall since February 1999. I am currently an assistant cabinet member with responsibility for culture & community services throughout the county.

The current Conservative-run council has controlled the large annual increases in Council Tax which the previous four years of Labour/Lib Dems saw it increase by 45 per cent. We have brought it down and this year the county increase was only 3.9 per cent.

Chaddesley division is very diverse, taking in the Spennells estate in Kidderminster and many rural villages and hamlets. It needs an experienced politician who knows the area and issues well.

I work very closely with the parish councils and district councillors for the area.

The county council has recently been audited and accredited as an excellently run local authority. This is thanks to the effort and changes that we have made over the past four years.

PETER DYKE

Liberal Democrat

Peter Dyke is a district councillor for the Spennells area, where his name is associated with action and results.

To be able to provide an all-round service to Spennells and Chaddesley division he is standing as a candidate in the county council elections. With fellow Liberal Democrats at County Hall he is working to address issues and concerns reported to him by local residents.

He is campaigning for more police to combat the problems of crime, anti-social behaviour, vandalism and general nuisance and as a member of a community group he is working to provide more facilities for all age groups.

Problems such as poor road surfaces, poor workmanship, mounting litter, very poor public transport and the implementation of the Wyre Forest Schools Review all show the neglect for our area shown by the Conservative-led county council.

DAVID MONTAGUE-SMITH

Labour

I have lived for 15 years in eastern Kidderm-inster on the edge of the division.

I have been a governor at three schools and the chairman at a primary school and vice chairman at a secondary school.

Besides education my other interests are health care and the maintenance of strong, effective, locally based emergency services.

I was active in fighting for the retention of all the first line fire engines. I also served on a commissioning committee for the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

I currently assess the level of care in residential sheltered housing for a large housing association, having done similar work for Social Services previously.

I would press for the use of brown field sites to be redeveloped first and fight to promote a Green Belt provision between the centres of population in the division so that each area can retain its character.
