HARRIERS hero Mike Marsh has made a cheeky offer to help them win promotion from the Conference again after inspiring them into the Football League in the first place.

The popular Scouse midfielde, who was recently voted the best player to ever pull on a Kidderminster shirt by readers of a national football magazine, is "gutted" about Kidderminster's relegation.

And the 35-year-old, who pulled the strings during the championship-winning season of 1999-2000, still has fond memories of Aggborough.

Marsh says he would jump at the chance to help Harriers back into the League - but admits that a spectacular comeback is highly unlikely.

"I'd fancy going back there to play and helping them do it all again but although it would be great I can't see it happening," said the former Liverpool, West Ham and Galatasaray man.

"I keep myself fit and I'm not in bad shape but I haven't played competitively since I was player-manager at Burscough about 18 months ago.

"With the management and all the playing staff and that changing now I can't see me going back there, but it's nice to dream isn't it?"

Marsh, who is still in regular contact with Ian Foster and occasionally speaks to Jan Molby, said it was one of his greatest regrets that an insurance pay-out prevented him from playing league football with Harriers.

"I was playing some good stuff then and it would have been great to have stayed there and played in the league but it wasn't to be.

"We had a good team, good players, a good manager and great team spirit then and if they can get that again, there's no reason why they can't get back up."

Marsh admits he is flattered to be voted the club's finest ever player in the Four-Four-Two poll, adding: "I had a great time there and it's great that the fans still appreciate what I did so I genuinely wish them all the best."
