WESTFIELDS are looking forward to capping a fine campaign by surprising neighbouring giants Hereford United in a cup final.

But they may have to wait until early next season to contest the HFA County Senior Challenge Cup at Edgar Street.

Busy Hereford have qualified for the Nationwide Conference play-offs, travelling to Stevenage next Monday and entertaining them the following Friday in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Westfields will try to build on their seventh position in the Travel Factory Alliance.

They travel to Cradley Town tonight (7.45) and complete their league season at home to Alvechurch on Saturday.

However, the final with Hereford is certainly likely to be worth the wait for the allpay.park club.

Chief executive Andy Morris said: "It is several years since we played Hereford United.

"With their involvement now in the Conference play-offs, the final may be held over until the start of next season.

"It could be a great curtain-raiser for the new season if we meet at Edgar Street, especially if they have achieved Football League status which we hope they do."

Tonight's game could see Westfields jump up one place depending on results elsewhere but Cradley need the points to avoid being dragged into the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Bromyard Town and Kington Town do battle for Herefordshire honours tonight in the West Midlands League Premier Division at Delahay Meadow (7.45).

Ledbury Town head to Dudley Town, looking to get back on track in order to clinch a top-three place (7.45).

The Birmingham Senior Cup final will be contested tonight at the Valley Stadium between Redditch United and a Birmingham City reserve side (7.45).
