WORCESTERSHIRE and Herefordshire have called up Luctonians fly-half Will Parry for his county debut in the RLF North Midlands Championship game against defending champions Shropshire at Tel-ford's Town Park ground tonight (7.30pm).

Parry is a student at Harper Adams University near Newport and faces a busy week as he was due to play for his University against Shrewsbury in a Shropshire Cup semi-final at Newport last night.

Provided Parry comes through that game uninjured he will line up for Worcestershire and Herefordshire against three of his Harper Adams team-mates, centre Jonathan Allen, flanker Dean Ramsey and fly-half Tom Jones, who have all been named in Shropshire's starting line-up.

Worcestershire and Herefordshire launched this season's RLF Championship, which is contested by the three component Domestic Unions of North Midlands, by beating Greater Birmingham 19-18 at Droitwich.

Ledbury prop Bill Sparey, who was a replacement against Greater Birmingham, has been forced to withdraw from the county squad after suffering a cut eye playing for his club last weekend.

Shropshire, who are bidding to complete a hat-trick of championships for the first time, will be playing their first game in this season's competition.

They play their final group match against Greater Birmingham at Edwardians RFC on Tuesday May 3.

The final, between the top two teams in the group, will be played at Stourbridge on May 10. All matches kick-off at 7.30pm.

The competition is sponsored by RLF, a UK firm of construction and property consultants.

RLF have seven offices across the UK situated in Birmingham, Brighton, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Stevenage. Peter Grace, the North Midlands representative on the RFU Council, is a former partner of RLF.

The Worcestershire and Herefordshire squad is:
