HEREFORD United's director of football Graham Turner has signalled his intention of bolstering his squad again before next Thursday's transfer deadline.

Turner swooped to sign Walsall duo Daryl Taylor and Leroy Williams in mid-week to boost the Bulls' hopes of landing a Nationwide Conference play-off spot.

Pacy midfielder Taylor, 20, and 18-year-old striker Williams joined United on loan until the end of the season.

Turner was delighted to capture the young pair and said more could be shuffling their feet on Edgar Street's welcome mat within the next few days.

"We've managed to bring in Daryl Taylor and Leroy Williams and their arrival will give a boost to everyone here at the club and our supporters," said Turner.

"Daryl is a wide man with plenty of pace who has featured quite regularly for Walsall's first team this season. Leroy may be a bit more inexperienced, but he is seen as having a lot of potential.

"I am hopeful that this will not be the end of our new recruits as I am confident of getting at least one more player in before next Thursday's transfer deadline."

Meanwhile, coach John Trewick is confident that United's stars can cope with the club's tough schedule in the end-of-season run-in.

Hereford face two games per week over the next month, starting with the Bank Holiday Monday showdown at home to relegation-threatened Northwich Victoria.

Trewick said: "We have got a lot of fixtures until the end of the season, but it has been that way because of our good runs in the LDV Vans Trophy and FA Trophy.

"That put us a little behind, but the players are more than capable of playing two games a week. However, when you have got injuries and illnesses, it does on occasions take its toll.

"The players have got to be fresh. They all know what's there at the end of it. They should be able to pick themselves up for each game."
