THE Dulux dog is urging people to recycle paint, ready for use in schools and community centres.
On Wednesday, April 13 Community Re>Paint will start collecting unwanted household paint from residents and businesses, which can then be sold on to members of the Worcestershire Resource Exchange at a cut price. The project will reduce chemical waste and will benefit schools and community groups.
However, the project's co-ordinator Clare Gillott warned that paint should not be left at the scheme's unit on the Gregory's Bank Industrial Estate.
"We need to check all the paint that comes in, and we can't accept cans with hazard signs them or paint more than 10 years old as it may have lead in it," she said.
l The WRE is already accepting unwanted paint. It can be handed in at Unit K on the estate on Mondays between 10am and 4pm, Thursdays, between noon and 7pm and Saturdays between 10am and 1pm.
