A GROUP of Worcester motorcyclists will delight dozens of autistic schoolchildren with a special Easter egg delivery.

The Poachers Motorcycle Club will travel from the city to Coddington Court School, near Ledbury, this Sunday armed with about 40 eggs.

They will have a supply of ordinary chocolate varieties as well as dairy-free and gluten-free types to fit in with pupils' diets.

"We're going to make sure every child gets at least one egg," said Roy Round, chairman of the club, which meets at the Poacher's Pocket pub, in Warndon Villages.

The plan comes after the Worcester News reported about biker Peter Ede, from Malvern, delivering eggs to elderly residents in the town.

The 40 members of the Poachers club - which has been running for four years - will hold a series of events through the year in aid of the school.

Coddington Court is a residential and day school for pupils aged eight to 19.

The school's service director, Roger Painter, said everyone was eagerly awaiting the bikers' arrival.

"The children are really looking forward to receiving the Easter eggs and we're delighted that the club has adopted us for the year," he said.

n Anyone who wants to donate an egg for the trip can meet the bikers at the Poacher's Pocket pub in Berkeley Way before 11am on Sunday. Donations can be sent to the club at PO Box 504, Worcester, WR4 0XQ, with cheques made payable to Coddington Court School.
