What happened to good manners? I have been somewhat annoyed this week more than once with some very poor manners, which, as my dad always told me, " costs you nothing".

On Saturday, my chum and I sat to watch the Ireland v Wales rugby international, in a bar.

Half an hour before the start we placed ourselves in a prominent position in front of the screen, with very few others in there.

Towards kick-off the crowd grew, and there was a shortage of chairs.

The game started and my chum went to the ablutions. I was concentrating on the game, my chum returned to find the chair had gone.

Now, good manners would say that you ask "Is this someone's seat?" But no...they nicked it.

On Monday, I visited a local store where I purchased some sausages.

Nothing unusual in that, but I had a voucher which entitled me to some money off the sausages, not a large amount but...a saving for a poor a down trodden broadcaster.

I asked the lady to take the money off, but on checking my bill it hadn't been taken off.

Returning to the till I was all but accused of lieing and then had to wait for 10 minutes while a supervisor came and "signed the book".

No apology...so I won't be going there again.

Putting the boot on the other foot.

On Wednesday I was again in a major store, with a person in front of me who was very rude to the lady on the till.

No please or thank you, and a moan about something that was clearly not the young lady's fault.

To be honest I did have to intervene, to be told it was nothing to do with me and to "mind my own ******* business".

So why have so many people forgotten their manners? Or maybe they were not given them in the first place.

Have you ever tried pushing a wheelchair round the shops?

It's amazing how the wheelchair suddenly becomes invisible...people just don't see it, they can't move out of the way, and you spend all your time saying excuse me, or bashing into their ankles.

It strikes me that maybe good manners are not taught any more. But, trust me, it isn't just youngsters who seem to have forgotten their manners.

I have been given lots of stick by some of my chums from "West Of Herefordshire" this week because Wales won the Six Nations.

Now, they were the best team in it without doubt, so fair do's to them. But with England rebuilding, Ireland not performing, and France - being France - it was a very different championship this year.

Talking of the oval ball game, Saracens at Sixways tomorrow. Big game this one.

The Warriors need a win to make sure nothing strange happens at the end of the season, because there have been some " shock" results in recent weeks.

Don't forget April 23 at Malvern for the Bradders and Friends Show - only a tenner - 01684 892277, all going to local hospices.

Enjoy your Easter Eggs...but don't forget to say thank you !
