BROMSGROVE Rovers are looking for in-form strikers Paul Szewczyk and Arthur Appleton to come up with the goods again over the Easter weekend.

Manager Jimmy Mullen asked for his side to make the Victoria Ground 'a fortress' and they responded with a 6-3 home drubbing of Taunton Town in Southern League Division One West last Saturday.

Szewzcyk and Appleton both hit braces in that match, taking Szewczyk's league tally for the season to 18 and giving Appleton his first goals since rejoining Rovers from Redditch United.

Now Mullen is hoping they can rise to the challenge and repeat their feats in tomorrow's match with Sutton Coldfield, also at the Victoria Ground (12.30pm), and at Bedworth United on Monday.

But he is also aware that, while the strikers were hitting the target at one end, his defenders were taking some shine off the performance.

Mullen said: "For them to get a couple each shows that they are in form and hopefully we can provide the ammunition for them to do it again.

"It could have been seven, eight or nine but to finish 6-3 flattered Taunton. We have had a word about it and it won't happen again."

The Taunton game still provided Rovers with three vital points in the quest for promotion and a weekend double would only enhance that aim.

"We will be ready for it and we will be up for it," Mullen added. "If we can get six points out of it, it will put pressure on the teams above us."

Mullen has also warned people not to be fooled by Sutton's league position.

He said: "If they (Sutton) hadn't had the 11 points taken away from them, I think they would be in the hat. They are a very good side and capable of causing an upset."

Mullen also has the same squad as last week to pick from.
