WORCESTER City captain Carl Heeley described last night's testimonial against Coventry as "fantastic" and hailed the club's loyal supporters.
The 35-year-old defender was given a guard of honour from both sets of players when he stepped out at St George's Lane in front of a crowd of 623.
Fans also gave Heeley a standing ovation when he came off five minutes before the end of the match, which the visiting Sky Blues won 5-1.
Heeley said: "It was brilliant. I could not have wished it to be a better night. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I would like to thank everybody for turning up.
"It was a fantastic turn-out. At this stage of the season, games come thick and fast and we had another good following. I can't thank people enough.
"Coventry were good opposition. It was nice to be matched against Dele Adebola in the first-half and then Shaun Goater in the second-half. What more can I ask for?"
Andy Morrell and Neil Wood gave Coventry a two-goal lead before City striker James Smith reduced the deficit.
Eddie Johnson then grabbed a brace and sub Gary O'Toole scored the fifth.
