MOBILE phones used to make hoax calls to the fire brigade will be disabled, said a brigade spokesman.

On Monday night, two hoax calls from a mobile were made warning them of house fires in two neighbouring properties in Warndon. In one call, the hoaxer said there was a baby trapped.

When the service suspected a hoax, they managed to track the phone and alert the service provider, who then barred the number, making the phone useless.
