The annual encampment of the Worcestershire Hussars (Imperial Yeomanry) will this year be held in Eastnor Park. The assembling of such a large and smart body of men in this district during the fortnight commencing 26th May will be a matter of considerable interest in the neighbourhood. There is a new temperance society for Ledbury, "The Abstainers' Brotherhood". The society is composed of men only. It is well-known that a women's society has existed for more than 20 years. The Reverend Potts was elected chairman for three months and the society will meet every Friday at the Town Hall. Ledbury Free Press, March 25, 1905.

The North Ledbury Hunt point-to-point races, due to be held at Bushley Park on Wednesday afternoon were called off in the morning due to the gale-force wind blowing down the marquee and tents on the course. Cars were turned back by the gateman before reaching the course. Our reporter was told that the wind was so strong it was impossible to re-erect the marquee. Malvern Gazette, March 25, 1955.

The prompt action of a former pupil prevented a fire at Ledbury Boys' School on Saturday evening from doing any serious damage. On the afternoon, there had been a meeting in one of the schoolrooms and a stove was put there.

At 7.15pm, Brian Barnes noticed the fire. He quickly informed the headmaster who summoned Ledbury Fire Brigade. The firemen soon had the 15ft high flames under control. Ledbury Reporter, March 25, 1955.

Nuclear power is unacceptable to many people today because it is a symbol of the modern industrial society they have come to dislike, according to Dr Ian Blair of the Atomic Energy Authority, Harwell. Dr Blair was speaking at a debate on nuclear power organised by last Friday by the Malvern branch of No To Atomic Waste. Malvern Gazette, March 27, 1980.

Proposals for the further extension of the Ledbury abattoir off The Homend were discussed by the town council and revived misgivings about its original siting. But Coun Dough Isaac said: "I have the greatest sympathy with the people living nearby, but the abattoir was there first." Ledbury Reporter, March 27, 1980.
