THE news that the kerbside recycling box scheme is to be scrapped will come as no surprise to the people of Wyre Forest even though it has been declared a major success with recycled waste targets being achieved well above government requirements.
Following on from the downgrading and the loss of many services at Kidderminster General Hospital, which at the same time was giving the local population a high standard of health care, and the recently announced reorganisation of the local education system, even though this too seemed to be performing well, one wonders just how much more misery and incompetence the government and the Conservative- controlled Worcestershire County Council can heap onto the long-suffering people of the area.
The political agenda of both seems to be if it works wreck it and replace it with an inadequate system at extra cost to the tax and rate payer.
