POLICE have issued CCTV pictures of a man who forced a motorist to remove £100 from a cash machine at Barclays Bank in Droitwich High Street.
The photographs show the man near the machine at approximately 8.30pm on Saturday, March 19, when the robbery took place.
The victim had just left his white Proton Compact Sprint when he was approached from behind by the man. The raider held a metal object to his throat and made him walk to the machine and withdraw cash.
After taking the money, the robber - who smelled of alcohol - ran off towards the Safeway store.
The police spokesman added: "This was a very frightening experience for the victim and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help with the early identification and apprehension of the robber."
He is described by police as being extremely fit, strong and smart-looking, with a well-pressed, short-sleeve, round-necked white shirt and a hairstyle that could indicate he was in the armed forces.
"There is a possibility that he does not necessarily come from the immediate Droitwich area and could have been passing through the town," said the spokesman.
"He may though be a local person who someone will know, or recognise from their community."
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the High Street area is asked to contact Droitwich Police on 08457 444 888, quoting 670S/190305.
