THE sweet smell of success covered the city yesterday after Worcester News vendors handed out hundreds of free bottles of perfume.
Lucky readers who bought their papers from sellers in The Shambles and Angel Place were given a bag which contained two fragrance samples. These were courtesy of Debenhams.
The giveaway was so popular supplies ran out within half-an-hour of the edition hitting the streets.
Today children were expected to be celebrating as around 450 free Woolworths toys - from hit films including Shrek 2 - were being handed out by the same vendors.
