Berkswell & Balsall 4, Pershore 5

PERSHORE just scraped a victory in Saturday's final Coaching Solutions League game of the season.

A fine corner routine between Toby Whiting and Gareth Rushton saw Whiting open the scoring and it was soon 2-0 when Richard Lisle netted after a fine move down the right.

The second half was an odd affair with Berkswell scoring a soft goal early on, before Pershore scored two in swift succession courtesy of debutant Anthony Hanley and Whiting.

The home side then hit back twice before Hanley scored the goal of the game, running 70 yards with the ball beating four players and the goalkeeper before finding the net.

Hard as Berkswell pressed they were only able to score a final consolation goal to leave the winners on a high after a season that promised so much until last month's goal drought.

Bloxwich III 3, Pershore III 4

PERSHORE, with Ed Barker making his debut, started strongly with Graham Handley, later to go off with a badly injured hand, making good progress down the right wing and setting up several chances.

None were taken but Pershore finally took the lead when Luke Dalley tapped in from close-range after a short corner.

It was quickly 2-0 when Neil Herman's mishit crept in but Bloxwich roused themselves and pressurised an away defence in which Gary Stephenson was having his usual sound game at left half.

Bloxwich's reply had an element of good fortune as the ball looped gently off a defender's stick, over Liam Booles in goal and stopped by the line for the left winger to net.

The second half saw Bloxwich come more into the game and they equalised with the best goal of the match.

It was then Pershore's turn to hit back with Mike Handley, surprised at finding himself in the circle, driving forcefully into the net.

Back again came the home side and they equalised with a soft goal before Herman got his second to secure an away success.

The second team completed a highly successful weekend by beating visitors Bloxwich 3-2.
