WORCESTER Royal Grammar School started where they left off at the end of the 2004 indoor season by thrashing a good Droitwich 'B' side by 50 runs in the Worcestershire Cricket Bo-ard League.

Their first three batsmen, Liam O'Driscoll (40 no), Sam Howell (52 no) and Dominic Harris (28 no), all retired by exceeding 25 runs.

By the end of the seventh over, Grammar School were on 88 and they were on course for victory as they closed on 161-3 after their allotted 12 overs.

The successful bowlers for Droitwich 'B' were Glen Harrison (1-36) and Gareth Thomas (1-38).

In their reply, Droitwich 'B' soon lost opener Paul Hamilton, but Rob Ferley joined Gareth Thomas and they started to rebuild the innings.

Thomas went on to score 25 not out off 20 deliveries and retired but wickets then began to fall and he returned to score 42 before being run out. Glen Harrison was also run out for a solid 28.

Dominic Harris (1-18) was the only successful bowler for the Grammar School as Droit-wich reached 111-6.

In the other Monday match, Chaddesley Corbett beat Belbroughton by six wickets.

This time, they fought hard, but in vein, to deny Chaddesley Corbett.

Andy Law (25), Paul Layman (27) and Neil Griffiths (28) led the way.

Nick Major (44) and Paul Rudge (7) added 20 for the first wicket, then Phil O'Neil (16) joined Major who saw the OVs through to a total of 103-5.

For Droitwich, Rees Johns (2-25) and Mike Rogers (1-22) were the bowlers who enjoyed success.

In reply, Droitwich were soon in trouble and only Martin Davies (26) made any impression in a total of 88.

Newcomers Worcester Dom-inies and Guild acquitted themselves well but still lost by five wickets to Worcester Nomads 'B'.

Glen Wilks was the mainstay of the Dominies innings of 86 all out with 32, but the Noamds' attack dominated, led by Geoff Taylor (3-17).
