BROMSGROVE Rovers face two huge matches over the Easter weekend as their chances of securing a top seven spot hang in the balance.

Rovers host Solihull Borough, immediately below them in the table, in a must-win game this Saturday and travel to local rivals Halesowen Town 48 hours later.

The Victoria Ground side have just four games left to ensure a top seven finish and virtually guarantee a step up to the Premier.

At present they occupy eighth place, which would get them a play-off with their Eastern counterparts, but would miss out altogether finishing any lower.

So player/manager Steve Pope is under no illusions to how vital victory is this Saturday.

He said: "This weekend is make or break. We said all along we were expecting to get nothing from Cirencester and Halesowen but the rest of them we have got to win to have any chance and this is the big one.

"I think we are more than capable of winning Saturday if the crowd get behind us, and the players will be up for it. I just hope some players don't get too hyped up and I include myself in that."

But even victory this Saturday does not give any guarantee of top seven security as Solihull would still be four points behind with two games in hand.

Rovers also have no fixture on May 1, the final day of the season, following Atherstone's resignation, and so need to be inside the top seven with a four-point cushion after their April 24 match at Mangotsfield or face relying on results.

Pope added: "Missing out wouldn't justify our season. We don't want to be relying on results for May 1.

"At the end of the day we are a good side."
