WORCESTER coaches Geoff Cooke and Adrian Skeggs are banking on the three recalled players making a big impact in their National League Division One game at Otley later today.

Dave Sims, Chris Simpson-Daniel and Nick Baxter return to the line-up at Cross Green as Richard Denhardt, Richard Jarman and Spencer Bromley are axed from the team which beat Exeter 25-6 last weekend.

Simpson-Daniel lost his place with the signing of Kiwi Jarman while Baxter has struggled to get a look in all season with only one try from three starts.

However, Cooke believes it is up to the players to grab their opportunity when it arrives.

He said: "Chris has been a bit unlucky this season with little niggling injuries and last week he went down with the flu. However, he's in now and it is up to him as with Nick who has had a frustrating season so far."

Skeggs believes Baxter is hungrier than ever for a run in the team.

He said: "Nick is such a hard runner and if he is on the end of things to finish things off he will be doing a good job for us.

"As long as he makes the tackles, does his job and scores tries then everybody will be happy. He has been looking very, very hungry in training though and that is the type of attitude I want to see.

"The people who have dropped out understand that we have a very big squad at Worcester and you cannot keep everyone happy all the time.

"We are looking to win this competition though and we need everyone to pull together and that means the match-day squad and the players who do not make the 22."

Skeggs is also hoping that substitute Tony Yapp begins to put more pressure on fly-half Earl Va'a in the coming weeks.

"I want to give Tony game-time because if Earl went down injured then he would be next in line to come in. He has a lot to offer us."
