IAN Foster has turned down an approach by Burton Albion as he looks for a more permanent full-time offer.
The Kidderminster Harriers striker spent part of last week training with Chester City who are now considering a bid for the 27-year-old.
Foster, who is available on a free transfer, was on the bench for Harriers' weekend Division Three 3-1 defeat to Scunthorpe.
Burton player-boss Nigel Clough said: "Foster now wants to keep his options open and see if he gets any offers for next season.
"But I'm still a bit surprised that he hasn't taken us up on our offer.
"Four weeks with us would have given him some football and put him in the shop window at a decent level, and he would still have had time to make a decision about his future."
