BROMSGROVE Rovers can have few complaints at being forced into a replay following their 1-1 draw at Barwell last Saturday.

Gary Hackett and Jon Ford's side squandered good first half chances to kill their Midland Alliance opponents off and paid the price.

Among the more notable misses were Matt Southwick, who missed the ball in front of a gaping goal, while Ford failed to head home a Mark Benbow cross.

Rovers though were 1-0 up at the break thanks to Southwick on 33 minutes.

Les Palmer lofted a ball over the top, Richard Burgess controlled it first time into the path of Southwick and he struck it beyond Paul Grears.

But it wasn't all one-way traffic as defensive errors let Barwell's Richard Tanner and Andy Lucas in to miss.

Barwell equalised six minutes into the second half when Lucas played the ball across the penalty area and Kenny Watkins tapped home.

Rovers survived a penalty appeal late on when Lucas was felled in the box.
