FIVE potential signings have been set a week's deadline to give their answers by Stourport Swifts.

Boss Dave Titterton is keen to sort next season's squad out with plenty of time to spare after most of his current players committed their futures.

He confirmed he had talked to a right-sided defender or midfielder, a left-back, two strikers and a goalkeeper.

Titterton said: "I've sown the seeds with a few players and hope for a couple of big signings.

"I've spoken to five players already this week and given them a week to decide."

Swifts announced their end-of-season awards at a presentation last Friday with John Shirley taking the players' player accolade.

Dave Davies was manager's player and young defender Sean Wright took clubman of the year for his loyalty despite little time on the pitch.

Swifts will share Walshes Meadow with Westfields at the start of next season if the Hereford club's ground is not ready in time.

West Midlands League Premier Division champions Westfields are playing in the Midland Alliance next season.

Chairman Chris Reynolds said: "If the ground is not quite ready, they can play some games at our place but it won't be long-term."
