SUNDAY'S 4-3 victory over relegation rivals Rushall catapulted Kidderminster Harriers Ladies out of the West Midlands League Premier Division drop zone.

Emma Bowdler bagged two goals with the others from substitutes Vicky Roberts and Kelly Preece as Harriers returned from a two-week break in league action.

Bowdler finished off the opener from 18 yards on 14 minutes after Louise Holmes' cross from Vicky Hyde's quick throw.

Holmes came close to doubling the score seven minutes later but her 25-yard drive hit the bar.

Rushall equalised after the interval through S Ponsford but the goal spurred Harriers on to two quick-fire strikes.

Roberts broke free to cut into the box and fire home on 71 minutes before Bowdler gave the keeper no chance with a 30-yarder.

Bowdler was denied her hat-trick when she hit the bar from long range but Rushall closed the gap to 3-2 through B Hanton.

However, Preece added Harriers' crucial fourth, controlling a cross eight yards from goal and turning to power a shot into the roof of the net.

Hanton scored a late Rushall third from a corner but Harriers held on and now play their final league game on Sunday against TNS at Oswestry.

On Sunday, May 9, Harriers hold trials for their first and reserve teams at Wilden Cricket Club for players aged 14 or over. More details are available on 07761 322406.
