DEAN Bennett is now looking to break his Division Three goal drought after four goals in just two FA Cup games.

The midfielder, known for his tireless non-stop running, has looked a lively operator behind lone forward Andy White on away trips.

But while Bennett's goal touch has deserted him in the bread and butter of the league, he can do little wrong in the FA Cup.

Two goals from the right boot against Woking were added to his headed Northwich double in the first round.

Bennett, sporting a shiner of a black eye picked up against Boston the previous week, said: "It does seem I cannot score in the league, just the cup!

"We had to be on our game because we knew we were up against a good team doing well in their league.

"We played well but we had a job to do. We didn't get carried away by it being the FA Cup, it was just another match we had to win.

"It was nice to get the early goal and we stayed on top in the first half and did well. They didn't have any chances and everyone played well.

"There were quite a few of our fans there which was nice and at least they will have been happy on the way home."

Bennett also paid tribute to the role of target man Andy White, admitting: "He's something we were missing earlier in the season. You do need a big target man in this division.

"He's doing really well, enjoys it here and gets on with everyone, though we are a welcoming bunch!"
