COULD former Bromsgrove Rovers manager George Rooney be related to England strike sensation Wayne Rooney?
Well, quite possibly, according to Liverpool-born George, himself on the books at Everton as a youngster.
He said: "My father was one of nine - eight boys and one girl.
"I don't know if I'm related but there are lots of nephews, cousins and grandchildren and my mother, who is the expert on this, thinks we might be though I've never met the kid."
Yet such a connection may not sound as daft as it seems.
The former Worcester City boss, who resigned at the Victoria Ground in March, went on: "But I knew Wayne's uncle, Billy Morrey.
"He was a great semi-pro footballer who played for Altrincham and Marine and that's where Wayne gets his footballing ability from.
"I played against Billy a lot and he was a tough, hard so and so - just like Wayne."
