BATTLING Kidderminster Harriers Ladies were unlucky not to claim a West Midlands League Premier Division point at TNS.

They fought well at Park Hall Stadium, Oswestry, on Sunday but lost 3-2 which was at least an improvement on their 6-2 defeat to the same side in February.

With games in hand, TNS can still claim runners-up spot and they took the lead on 29 minutes, despite chances for both sides in a strong start.

Jemma Lloyd drilled home from just inside the box but Emma Purslow levelled just five minutes later, slotting the ball past the keeper with the outside of her right foot.

After Vicky Roberts went close to giving lowly Harriers the lead with a shot that went just wide, Sarah Parton scored a second for TNS after beating the defence.

Just before half-time, Parton added her second with a 25-yard free-kick which gave keeper Emma Jones no chance.

Harriers had most of the play in the second half and Emma Bowdler netted Harriers' second when she caught the TNS keeper off her line.

Two long-range Bowdler efforts went wide and stand-in keeper Jones denied TNS a late fourth by tipping the ball around the post at full stretch.
