A SIGH of relief went around Aggborough when player-of-the-season Danny Williams confirmed a one-year contract in the summer.

The 24-year-old former Wales U-21s international has been a vital cog in the Kidderminster Harriers midfield over recent campaigns.

Williams admitted he was keeping his options open during the close season but was more than happy to finally commit to Ian Britton's 2003/04 plans.

He had been linked with various clubs and is ambitious to return to a higher level after spells at Liverpool and Wrexham did not work out, though his current aim is to take Harriers into Division Two.

Williams is also looking to boost his personal goal tally and is calling for all of his team-mates to chip in more to help top scorer Bo Henriksen.

With only two goals last season, the tough tackler admitted: "I would like to score more goals, though I don't really get into many attacking positions.

"That's left to players like Dean Bennett to get forward. And my free-kicks weren't the best last season!

"Also there were times last season when we played badly but lost when we could have won. We need to find a way of getting a result when we do play badly."
