FORMER England striker Les Ferdinand will be part of an all-star Leicester City side which takes on Kidderminster Harriers in a pre-season friendly at Aggborough tonight (7.45).

Ferdinand is one of nine players manager Micky Adams has snapped up during the summer for promoted City's forthcoming Premiership campaign.

The former Spurs, Newcastle United and Queen's Park Rangers campaigner has joined the Foxes from West Ham United.

Leicester's other close-season captures who are expected to face Harriers at some stage during tonight's clash are Craig Hignett (Blackburn), Ben Thatcher (Spurs), Lilian Nalis (Chievo), Keith Gillespie (unattached), Danny Coyne (Grimsby), Paul Brooker (Brighton), Riccardo Scimeca (Notts Forest) and Steve Howey (Manchester City).

Harriers, who are expecting a crowd of up to 3,000, will be checking on the fitness of close-season signing Matthew Gadsby before finalising their side.

The defender twisted his knee during Saturday's 6-1 friendly win at Boldmere St Michael. Other current casualties are striker Bo Henriksen (Achilles) and goalkeeper John Danby (knee).

Tonight's match is the first of three high profile home friendlies for Harriers who take on West Bromwich Albion on Saturday (3pm) and Walsall on Wednesday, July 30 (7.45).

Tonight's match marks the unofficial opening of Harriers' new East Stand on the railway side of the ground.

Meanwhile, Hereford United have reduced their prices to £5 adults and £2 concessions for tonight's friendly with West Brom-wich Albion (7.45pm).
