MANAGER Jan Molby plans to give more players the chance to shine in trials for Kidderminster Harriers.

"I think if there's an opportunity to have a look at good players on a trial period then it's always worth it," said the former Liverpool ace.

Recently Molby has been running the rule over a couple of 23-year-old trialists and is eager for other suitable candidates to follow suite.

He said: "I might just come away with these two players thinking they are worth keeping an eye on.

"That's why we are doing it. You can never afford to stand still.

"We are always on the look out. At the moment we have got an eye on a couple of players playing for other clubs who are out of favour a little bit.

"We will continue to look at trialists right the way through the season and seasons after that.

"It's the only way to do it. It's a new thing that has crept into football where teams are actually prepared to let you have a look at them."

Recently goalkeeper Matthew Boswell and Frenchman Pafait Medou-Otye have been showing off their talents to Molby on a trial basis.

Boswell, the son of former Wolverhampton Wanderers keeper Alan, made it into the first team for Harriers dramatic 2-1 JC Thompson Championship Shield victory over Kingstonian at Aggborough.

He has previously had spells with Port Vale and Irish League side Sligo Rovers.

Medou-Otye, recently on a contract with Scottish Leaguers Greenock Morton, has also turned out for French outfit Le Harve.

He can play at right back, centre half or defensive midfield.
