MISYS, one of Worcester's largest employers, has beaten its target of raising at least £5,000 for the Alzheimer's Society and Diabetes UK.
The company, which is this year celebrating 25 years of supplying software to insurance brokers, raised a grand total of more than £6,200 for its staff-nominated charities.
A number of fund-raising events were organised throughout the year. This week Misys' directors were keen to grab a slice of the action by dusting off their aprons for a cake sale.
The event was the icing on the cake in a record-breaking year for Misys charity fund-raising.
"Each year our 300 employees nominate charities they wish to support," said Phillip Bell, chief executive of Misys general insurance.
"As a leading employer, we have a responsibility to the community in which we work, which is why we encourage staff to support a charity each year. The Alzheimers Society and Diabetes UK are two extremely worthy causes and we hope that the money we have raised will be of great benefit."
